That New Year’s healthy resolution seems like months ago. And it was. Summer is a great time to restart your healthy resolutions. Here are some tips to help you try once again:
Enjoy nature! Simply spend more time outside. It may be for a daily walk or bike ride. Maybe it is just being with neighbors and friends. Maybe it is for some lawn games and grilling with your family. Maybe it is watching a movie under the stars. Just find a way to enjoy the outdoors.
Change your diet! Summer is a perfect time to enjoy fresh veggies and fruit from your local grocery store or from farmer stands on the roadside. It also is a perfect time to work on adding more water into your daily routine. If you are tired of plain water, consider infusing your water with fruit.
Revamp your exercise plan! Maybe you’re losing motivation for that great workout you started a few months ago. Now is a good time to search for a new workout or make changes to one you do like. Sometimes, simply moving your exercise outdoors helps. It might also be a great time to create a new summer playlist for your workout.
Purge! Take the time to purge parts of your home that are overwhelming — such as that one room or drawer that has been taken over with stuff. If you have kids, get them involved with purging their rooms. Decide together what stays, what is given away, what might be sold and what is simply thrown away. If it is too overwhelming, ask a friend for help.
Be practical with your changes! Don’t expect to completely change yourself. Instead, focus on one or two aspects you would like to make better. You will also want to make sure any changes fit into your daily life and responsibilities as you work to be the best you this summer.
