Flu season is upon us. Here are some of the best ways to prevent a cold or the flu from spreading through your home this winter:
Get a new toothbrush. It’s always a good idea to replace your toothbrush after you’ve been sick. Also, throw your bed sheets and pillow cases in the wash to rid them of potentially contagious germs.
Stay hydrated. In cold weather, you may not feel thirsty, but that doesn’t mean your body isn’t asking for fluids. Check out this guide for how much water you should try to drink each day.
Wash your hands. Aim for a 20-second hand wash. Use hand sanitizer after touching any public things or places, such as pens, doorknobs, handrails or elevator buttons.
Get exercise. Research shows that exercising throughout the winter months can prevent sickness by providing a boost to the immune system.
Get enough sleep. It’s that time of year when parties, events, and activities prevent many of us from getting enough sleep. Yet adequate sleep can actually help your body fight against common sicknesses.
