If you’ve ever left a job, you’re probably familiar with COBRA. Short for Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, this federal law allows most Americans to temporarily keep their health coverage after their employment ends.
The downside to COBRA is the cost. You pay 100% of the premiums — including the share your employer used to pay — in addition to an administrative fee.
Even if you have pre-existing medical conditions, a better option may be to let us help you find an affordable health insurance plan on your own! We have access to a variety of health plans and may be able to find a more cost-effective option than COBRA coverage. From the day your employment ends, you have 60 days to select health insurance coverage — either through COBRA or on your own. Questions? We’re here to help you find the right health insurance coverage.
