Did you know? Connect for Health Colorado has announced that many consumers receiving tax credits will see their share of premiums rise an average of 77 percent next year if they keep the same plans.
The average share of costs for customers receiving tax credits in 2014 was $161.79 a month, according to the Colorado Division of Insurance. In 2015, the average share of costs after tax credits would rise to $281.01!
The change underscores the importance of shopping around. However, the state of Colorado has noticed some “glitches” in the system. They are recommending you shop anonymously. If you log into your account and put a policy into your cart, your coverage for 2015 could be suspended and you may end up with no insurance at all. In addition, you may be required to complete the entire PEAK application again unnecessarily.
